Kaiha Group's story

Purunari is a 48-year-old, married, hardworking Ugandan man living in Kagadi with five children aged between 20 and 10 years, and four of them attend school. He earns from farming and a retail shop business to generate income to educate his children.

He hopes to buy more land even though he meets a problem of inadequate capital. Purunari intends to use a loan to buy sugar, soap, and cooking oil for resale. He is a member of Kaiha Group where each member guarantees the other to get a loan since they don’t pledge securities.
