Zahida's Group
In this Group: Zahida, Tasleem
Zahida is 53 years old, and an active borrower through BRAC Pakistan. She resides in Rawalpindi, Pakistan with her spouse and eight children. Her husband is a rickshaw driver by profession and is the guardian of the family, responsible for managing the household. Zahida also contributes her income along with her husband by selling different kinds of oil stuff to support the family.

Zahida wants to purchase different varieties of oils, but due to insufficient financial means she is not in a suitable position to buy oil to resell. Therefore, Zahida has applied for a Kiva group loan with another member from BRAC Pakistan. This loan amount will enable her to buy a variety of oil stuff for resale purposes and earn a more profitable income.

On this financial support Zahida is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
