A loan of $175 helped to pay for clean and affordable cooking energy from Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Immaculate's story

Immaculate from Bunamwaya is a single mum who doubles as a home economics teacher at work. For the past three years, Immaculate has been using Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for her home economics practical lessons. She feared gas as a very dangerous product although she uses it at school. She had never considered it as an alternative because she thought it was an energy for either the rich or for institutions.

Immaculate understands the advantages of LPG over charcoal and firewood. She says that charcoal is dirty and consumes a lot of time but with LPG, it burns clean without soot.

She is seeking a Kiva loan to enable her to acquire LPG for her own home use. The loan will help her pay for LPG, a cylinder, gas and the LPG stove.
