Rubbie's story

Rubbie is 46 years old and married with two children; she runs a used clothing material business in OIC Ropolo, Northern area in Sierra Leone. She started business to be self-reliant.

She has been in this business since 2001 and sells different types of clothing material within a busy market area. Her business is the only source of income she has. She says that the main challenge to her business is insufficient capital.

Rubbie requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more tie dye, lace, and wax cotton cloth for resale. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her educate her children and increase her business. In the future, she would like to expand her business more than ever.
