A loan of $1,175 helped to purchase more plastic bowls, buckets, plastic chairs, and food containers for resale.

Mariatu's story

Meet 44-year-old Mariatu from Masuba, Makeni Northern area in Sierra Leone. She is married with five children. In 1999, Mariatu established her plastic and rubber business. She began her business because she considered it as the best choice for self-empowerment. She works at the business ten hours per day and six days per week. She says that the main challenge to her business is that the customs dues at the neighboring county are very expensive.

Mariatu requires a loan in order to purchase more plastic bowls, buckets, plastic chairs, and food containers for resale. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to pay her children's school fees and increase her business. In the future, Mariatu plans to develop an international business. She thanks you for your support.
