For 25 years she has been working in agriculture, a trade she learned from her mother, since her father died when she was 12 years old. Norma walks a kilometer to get to work. She also sells products by catalogue.

The loan she is requesting through CREDICAMPO is to buy farm supplies such as corn seed, compost, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and to hire workers. This is so she can improve the harvest and increase her income in order to give her family a better quality of life.

Norma's goal is to renovate her house, expand her work and give her children an education so they can become professionals.

Norma de 43 años de edad, esta casada, tiene 4 hijos de 21, 23, 18 y 13 años de edad los cuales 2 de ellos estudian, Norma estudió hasta tercer grado y ya no siguio sus estudios, porque era el tiempo de la guerra. Norma trabaja en la agricultura desde hace 25 años, trabajo que aprendió de su mamá, porque su papá falleció cuando Norma tenia la edad de 12 años, para llegar a su trabajo Norma camina 1 kilometro, también se dedica a la venta de productos por catalogo.

El préstamo que esta solicitando en CREDICAMPO, es para la compra de insumos agrícolas, como semilla de maíz, abono, fertilizantes, herbicidas, pesticidas y mano de obra; para poder obtener una mejor cosecha lo cual aumentara sus ingresos y así podrá darle a su familia una mejor calidad de vida.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
