A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase more hookahs and charcoals for his café, in an effort to grow his business and increase his revenue.

Mohamad's story

Mohamad is a 27-year-old single man and Palestinian refugee. Two years ago he started his own hookah café in the refugees’ camp where he lives, despite his lack of capital and savings. Today, his business is making good progress and his café is frequented by a large number of residents in the camp.

Mohamad is an ambitious person who looks for better chances in life. He has acquired a youth loan from Kiva’s field partner Al Majmoua to purchase more hookahs and charcoals for his café, in effort to grow his business and increase his revenue. In the future Mohamad intends to establish a charcoal supply store and distribute his coals all around Lebanon.
