A loan of $625 helped capital to purchase stock.

Trinidad Susana's story

The businesswoman Trinidad C. B. is 34 years old, and married with three children in primary education. For six years she has run a store where she sells a variety of products, such as meat, staple grains and other things.

With her business she contributes to her household's expenses, as her husband is unemployed and must wait for whatever work he can find. Essentially, her family of five people depends upon her business' success.

Though her store is quite well stocked, she requires a loan to increase the variety of products and to obtain greater profits.

She is asking for financing to buy the following : 60 pounds of chicken which costs US$1/lb., 2 dozen bottles of La Lechera milk (US$30/dozen), 30 pounds of beef (US$1.50/lb.), 2 quintals (a quintal is equivilent to 46kg, or 100 lbs.) of american rice (US$50/quintal), 3 quintals of national rice (US$45/quintal), 3 quintals of sugar (US$30/quintal), 3 drums of oil (US$33/drum) and 6 dozen pieces of soap (US$6/dozen).
