Living in a wooden house located in Prasat Sambo district of Kampong Thom province, Savin is aged 22 years and married. She has three children, who are all dependents, and two of them are in school while the other is too young for school. To make a living, she and her husband have been farming rice for ten years.
This is the fourth micro loan for Savin with VisionFund and she completely repaid the past three loans, which have helped her make her living better. She wants to use her loan to buy fertilizer for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow her business and earn a larger income to improve her family’s living standard and keep her children in school.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
