A loan of $3,125 helped a member to buy wholesale rice, noodles and potatoes.

Kantutas De Los Andes Group's story

The group Kantuta De Los Andes, which will begin its twenty-second cycle at Pro Mujer as part of Centro Focal de Los Andes, is composed of eight members, and is headed by Board President Mrs. Francisca. Various businesses are members of the community association, including neighborhood stores selling traditional rites services, natural medicine, blanket weaving, and preserved food.

The loan will benefit microentrepreneurs where Mrs. Francisca is a member. She has been with Pro Mujer for seventeen years following an invitation from a family member who is part of the institution. Today she has a business selling food, something she began six years ago after observing her aunt's business.

The loan will be to increase capital through the purchase of wholesale rice, pasta, and potato from the El Alto city markets and afterwards sell in her retail space. This way of working allows her to generate resources to support her family, as she is married and has five children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the healthcare offered by the institution.

In this group: Francisca Claudia, Marcelina , Elsa Claudina, Teresa Hortencia, Nora Hortencia , Elena Lidia, Wilma, Delia Veronica
