A loan of $1,375 helped a member to buy t-shirts wholesale.

Nayrar Sartañani Group's story

The credit union, "Nayrar Sartañani," will begin its fifth cycle with "Pro Mujer" as part of the Central Focus of Collpani. It is comprised of eight members and is directed by an executive board where Virginia is President. The businesses of the communal association members carry them forward. They are assorted businesses and among them are: t-shirt and hat sales, and flute production.

The loan that they will take out will benefit these small business owners, of which Virgina is a member. She says that she first joined "Pro Mujer" after accepting the invitation of an institution promoter who visited her in her home. Currently, she has a business selling t-shirts. She came to know this business, which launched 16 years ago, with the help of her sister-in-law who taught her the business of selling these products. She currently sells them by the dozen.

The loan that she is now taking is to increase her inventory (buying t-shirts wholesale). She will purchase them at the markets at the border of Bolivia and Perú and later sell them per customer request. This type of work allows her to make enough resources to support her family since she is married and has two children.

When asked what she likes most about "Pro Mujer," she responds saying that she likes to credit section and the health section offered by the institution and her group.

In this group: Virginia, Erika Rosmery , Delfin , Martha Esther, Nancy , Hilcias , Margarita , Esther Neyza
