A loan of $625 helped a member to pay for cassava plowing fee and fertilizer purchasing.

Ley's Group's story

Ley, 50, is a villager from Srey Snom district of Siem Reap province. She struggles with her family’s hardship via one hectare of rice cropping and another one hectare of cassava farming. She can earn up to 31,700 KHR per day from the current business, which she has had for ages. This is the fourth-cycle loan for Ley and the second loan for her joint borrower. Now, her living condition is better than before. For this cycle, she joins a group of two to get a new loan and she is the leader. Her requested loan amount is 1,400,000 KHR and her co-borrower's loan amount is 1,100,000 KHR. As the leader, she will spend her loan portion to pay the cassava plowing fee and to buy fertilizer. She strongly believes that she can gain a better yield than before.
