A loan of $1,200 helped to rent a yam farm and harvest the crop for sale.

Chhin's story

Chhin H., 69, is married and resides in the province of Kampong Cham with her husband. She has three children but all of them no longer stay at home, as they are married and have their own jobs to support their own families. Chhin H. is a farmer and makes less than one dollar per day, while her husband works growing yams, typically making US$8 a day. Chhin H. and her husband have applied for a loan from Kiva via Credit, a local partner, for US$1200 to rent a yam farm and then harvest the crop for sale. They will slice the yams and then dry them in the sunshine.
