A loan of $1,500 helped to buy cacao seeds and agricultural supplies.

Melquisedec's story

Melquisedec is a farmer and his wife, a housewife, helps him with the business activities. He buys and sells tubers like ‘quequisques’ and yucca. He produces a certain amount on his farm, and he buys another amount and resells it wholesale. This is the way that he maintains his income.

He has his own work entity where he has an inventory of livestock. This is also part of his income. Melquisdec and his wife have two minor children who attend elementary school.

With great sacrifice and loans, he has been fulfilling his intentions of being a merchant and a cattle dealer. This time he is requesting a loan to plant two ‘manzanas’ [a manzana is a land measurement unit equivalent to 7000 square meters] of cacao. This way he will develop his property and improve his lifestyle.
