A loan of $650 helped purchase of well-balanced feed for her animals as well as a small bull.

Bernandina's story

Bernardina is 41 years old. She currently lives with her husband, her four children, and her mother-in-law. She works each and every day so that her family will have daily sustenance. She dedicates herself to various tasks of the countryside, planting potatoes and oca (a type of Andean tuber), but spends most of her efforts on raising animals such as hogs and guinea pigs. When harvest time arrives, her work is more arduous and Bernardina and her whole family participate in the effort. Later, the earnings will be seen when she takes her crops to the major markets in Huancayo to sell. This work that she does is a way of life, inherited from her parents. Her greatest motivation is to see her family well cared for and not lacking anything. Bernardina requests this loan with which she will purchase well-balanced feed for her animals and a small bull, because she also will start selling animals.
