A loan of $1,500 helped to cultivate corn and purchase two plots of land that she will use for agricultural work.

María Candelaria's story

María, 57 years old, attended school until the seventh grade. She has a partner and he works in agriculture with her. Two children live with them. Consequently two people depend on her.

María currently works as a farmer and she has done so since she was a child. She learned from her parents because they made a living working in the fields. In addition to agriculture, she also raises free range hens, which generate additional income. She does not have a work schedule since she does not rest until she has finished what she has to do.

The money from the loan will be used to cultivate corn. In addition, she will buy two plots of land that she will use to farm.

María’s dreams are: to be able to help her children achieve everything within their reach and to own a decent house. She is sure that with help from God and the loans she will be able to make it possible.
