A loan of $2,750 helped a member to buy house-building materials like cement and iron corrugated zinc.

Francis F.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from Grafton, on the outskirts of Freetown, Sierra Leone's capital city. With the help of this loan, this group of teachers will be able to buy or invest in things that their mere salaries alone cannot let them do. And at the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for making the deductions and the repayments on their behalf.

Francis is the featured leader of this group. The 58-year-old was born in the town of Kailahun. He is married to a housewife and the couple has four children. Francis, who has been a professional school teacher for 38 years, has requested this loan in order to buy house-building materials like cement and iron corrugated zinc in order to complete the house building project he has begun.

In this group: Francis F., Fouad C., Makotor Assanatu, David
