Guliko's story

Guliko is a 52-year-old married woman from a small village in the Khelvachauri district. She lives with her husband, two children, daughter-in-law, and grandson. Guliko's husband works as a driver for a private company and gets a small monthly income. Guliko has a bakery. She bakes Georgian "Khachapuri" (cheese in bread) and has satisfied clients. She decided to open a cafe near the bakery and increase the number of clients and enlarge the business. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative with Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of USD 2,500 for opening a cafe. Guliko is a very hardworking woman who is ready to work harder to increase her income. The Start Up program will be a great support for the family.
