A loan of $525 helped to purchase agricultural supplies for her coffee crops.

Argelia's story

Argelia is single and the mother of two children who help her with the different jobs she does in the field, including pruning, cleaning, and applying fertilizer, manure, and leaf fertilizer. She is 52 years old. She did not complete primary school because her family was not able to pay. She attended through third grade. She lives with her two sons, her two daughters-in-law, and her grandchildren, who contribute to the work in the fields and other activities. She has many years of experience with this work, since she learned it at a young age from her parents, who were farmers.

Her goals and plans are to be able to purchase another piece of land so that she can continue planting and expanding her coffee crops, to implement new methods that reduce crop maintenance costs, and to produce an attractive coffee bean with good flavor to sell at the market. As a mother, she supports her children with each of their projects, as well as her grandchildren and other people who live with her. She has requested this loan to purchase agricultural supplies such as fertilizer, liquid fertilizer for leaves, coffee fertilizer, and urea that will give her crops better protection so that she can have a good production at the end of the season.
