Rubina Salamat's Group's story

Rubina baji is the wife of Mr. S. and lives in a small area named Bund Road in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. She has a two-room brick house and has been living in it for the last six years. She is the mother of three children: two sons and one daughter. All of her children are enrolled in a local school in her neighborhood. Her husband is a driver by profession. He has been driving a rented auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle) for the last ten years. Rubina baji is a housewife and prefers to do household work and take care of her family. She is applying for a loan to buy her own auto-rickshaw.

Rubina baji is joined in her loan group by a few more members. Rani baji wants a loan to buy a sewing machine to sew clothes. Taji baji wants a loan to buy groceries for her grocery shop. Parveen baji wants a loan to repair an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle).

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
