Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of secondary school teachers from the village of Kalangba, in northern Sierra Leone. This group of able teachers has come to SMT to apply for a loan of 14,100,000 SLL in order to meet their most immediate and pressing financial challenges. At the end of each month, they can easily repay the loan using their monthly salaries, as their school’s bursar is directly responsible for doing the deductions from their monthly salaries and repays SMT on their behalf. Tejan is the featured leader of this team. Born 53 years ago in the village of Kambai in northern Sierra Leone, Tejan is married to a petty trader. Tejan has eight children, four of whom are attending schools. Tejan is a school teacher and has served in the teaching profession for 27 years now. He has requested this loan in order to buy house building materials for the construction of a dwelling house for his family.
