Sat's story

Mrs. Sat K. is a 54-year-old widow who breeds pigs and grows fruit trees on her farmland for a living. She has three children, two of whom are employed as garment workers in Phnom Penh, while her third child lives with her at home and attends school.

Her business is doing very well, but she wants to expand the business to generate even more income. Accordingly, she is seeking a loan in the amount of US$600 to purchase more piglets to breed, and any remaining loan proceeds would be used to purchase insecticide and fertilizer in order to protect her fruits.
