Lia's story

Lia is a 27-year-old married woman. She lives in the small village of Gori district with her husband and two children. Lia is involved in the agricultural activities. In particular, she has a plot of agricultural land, where she grows haricot. She is a very hardworking woman and does her best to insure a good harvest. Her husband is employed and gets a small monthly salary.

Lia decided to start a dairy business and requested a loan. The Start Up program, which is a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo, enables her to get a loan of 2,000 GEL to purchase a cow. As the cow is purchased, she will start producing dairy products to sell locally. This will increase the family income, and Lia will be able to improve the living conditions of her family.
