Gladys's story

Gladys is married with one child and they live in a three bedroom apartment house in Bamenda Mezam Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. She has faced so many challenges in life, among which have been sickness in her family, death of her sister, inadequate finance to properly manage her business, and deaths of her brother and father.

She has taken and repaid her loans successfully three times, and says with the new loan now requested, she will buy more feed, seedlings for her farm, and fowls, and she will also add firewood selling to her line of business. Gladys holds a positive view of her business succeeding because she has been doing the business for a long period. She has regular customers who buy from her, her business is situated at a good site, and she also supplies in bulk to other retailers in the community. With this business activity, the community will have a regular supply of fowls for consumption and the waste from fowls will be use as manure to boast high yields.

With the profit from this loan, she will assist her husband in the upbringing of their children, will provide for their medication, and will also cater to other family needs, including the education of her children. To her, GHAPE loans are preferable because of low interest rates ans convenient repayment intervals, and members are also trained on business and marketing skills before the loans are disbursed.
