A loan of $175 helped to pay for thermally efficient energy from Liquefied Petroleum Gas.

Walter's story

Walter is the deputy head teacher of Buganda Road Primary School. He is 42 years old and a married father of five children. Walter wants to get his family a package of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Walter is aware of the advantages of cooking with LPG.

He says that this type of energy does not require a lot of time to light and the heat is very efficient in that it is not wasted. Although Walter is a head teacher of his school, his income does not allow him to acquire a complete cooking solution of gas by paying cash.

As a teacher, Walter is seeking a loan from Kiva to enable him to buy the cooking gas package. This package will enable him to prepare breakfast in the morning as well as to have warm food in the evening when he returns late after his family has finished eating.
