A loan of $425 helped to buy seeds and minerals to grow sugarcane and pumpkins.

Almira's story

Almira was born in 1979 and she lives in a suburb of Doboj in Bosnia. She is married with two children. Her husband works as a bricklayer and tree-cutter, and Almira helps him with his tree-cutting business. This does not provide enough income to support her family, so Almira also works in the fields to grow sugarcane and pumpkins.

Almira requests a 600KM loan from Women for Women International to buy seeds and minerals for the autumn sowing. She hopes to have a harvest of sugarcane and pumpkins by the early spring.
