A loan of $400 helped to buy manure and fertilisers for his maize crop, and so produce a good harvest.

Fidel Alberto's story

Fidel is 45 years old and studied up to ninth grade. He lives with his partner, who takes responsibility for running their home. They have one young daughter, who lives with them and does not yet go to school. From when he was very small, Fidel's father taught him how to cultivate maize and sorghum. He currently grows 14,000 square metres of maize and another 14,000 of sorghum, in fields just 20 metres from his house. He also has his own cattle, which provide a further income

He is seeking a loan in order to buy agricultural inputs for his maize crop, specifically manure and fertilisers. He hopes to make a good harvest, sell well, and make a good profit to provide for his family and repay the loan before the deadline given.
