A loan of $4,225 helped a member to buy cosmetics.

Yeredeme Group's story

The Yeredèmè group is made up solely of polygamous wives. They average 35 years of age with two children each and all live in Badialan III, one of Bamako's districts. They got to know each other as neighbors. The group members have small businesses selling cosmetics, cereals, vegetables and clothes. With a view to increasing their businesses, they decided to collaborate with Soro Yiriwaso and are on their second group loan.

Coumba, who is sitting on the far right of the photo, has a great reputation for selling cosmetics. She is planning to use her loan to buy five cartons of creams and three cartons of perfumes. She resells her products on a retail basis in Badialan III to a mixed customer base. With this loan Coumba expects to make an average monthly profit of 90,000FCFA which will be used to reinvest in her business. Her ambition is, through this relationship with Soro Yiriwaso, to buy a plot of land for habitation purposes.
