Jose is a hard-working man and dedicated to his family. He has worked in agriculture since he was 10 years old, working beside his father who taught him to farm the land. Besides farming the land he also works as a laborer in the same line of work, earning an additional income to help his children.

The loan he is requesting is for the purchase of two 100lb bags of urea and two 100lb bags of sulfate to fertilize the crop in its first and second stages. For the planting of the corn, he will also purchase half a truckload of manure to mix with the fertilizer. This technique will allow for good management of the crop, improving its production and in this way increasing his income and also allowing him to extract his basic grains to give his children a good nutrition.

Jose wants to continue producing basic grains, expressing that it is lovely to work in agriculture.

José es un hombre trabajador y dedicado a su familia, actualmente trabaja en la agricultura desde que tenía 10 años, trabajando al lado de su padre que fue quien le enseño a cultivar la tierra, aparte de cultivar la tierra, también trabaja de jornalero en el mismo rubro obteniendo un ingreso más para ayudar a sus hijos.

These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
