Mrs. Mai has a retail business selling medication; she has been involved in this business for more than 10 years. Mai is 49 years old, and she is married with two children. She lives with two dependents in the Hoang Hoa district, a rural town in Thanh Hoa province.

In 2013, Mai joined Thanh Hoa Fund for Poor Women to improve her business. Mai has successfully repaid two loans from Thanh Hoa Fund for Poor Women.

One of the most critical difficulties that concerns her is not having a clean water system and a hygienic latrine.
