Diana Carmen's story

Diana is taking out her first loan with the Yanbal credit group. She lives in the Molleturo area in Cuenca. People there raise animals and work in agriculture and trade. They are people who maintain their culture and traditions.

Diana is 27 years old. She is the single mother of 2 children, aged 11 and 4. Her oldest daughter goes to a little local school. She does not own her own home and so she lives with her mother, with whom she shares the household expenses. For 3 years, Diana has worked in a restaurant as a cook, but to contribute more to the household budget, she is raises pigs and cattle and also farms for household consumption. She is going to invest the money in buying cattle. Her goal is to have more animals to grow her business.
