Look To God Group's story

In this photo we see the members of the “Look To God” group. They are small-scale businesswomen based in Koidu, a city in eastern Sierra Leone, and are requesting a loan for 800,000 Sierra Leonean Leones for each person in the group to invest in her respective businesses. The leader of this group is Kumba. She is 47 years old and was born in Koidu city, where she is currently lives with her husband and three children. Her husband works as a technician and her children all attend schools. For the last three years, she has earned a living by selling rice, bananas, flour, sugar, gari (a food made out of cassava roots), and more. With the help of this loan, Kumba will invest in her business by buying these foods in large quantities to sell to her customers.
