A loan of $400 helped to buy fertilizer for his potato crop.

Emilio's story

Emilio is 39 years old and has a very collaborative and supportive wife who joins him in tending to their crops. This couple has 5 children who are all in school. He and his wife have been working in agriculture for many years, it's their livelihood. Emilio likes the earth to be well worked; he plants 50 bags of potato seeds and takes care of all of his cultivated crops, like the arvejas and habas. His wife and 5 children work for the family's daily income; the eldest is 20 years old and helps take care of the crops, but then has to go and study. As Emilio has already planted his land, he needs a loan to fertilize his crops in order to fetch a good price at the market. Unfortunately, fertilizer is expensive and Emilio just can't afford it. Emilio works to pay for the educations of the 3 youngest of his 5 sons. With this loan, he'll buy fertilizer for his potato crop. His goal, with time, is to plant larger quantities and educate his children.
