A loan helped a member to buy salon hair products to service more people.

Kampala Group's story

Grace is in her early thirties and has three children (two boys and one girl) who are in school. She is coupled with somebody. For six years now Grace has managed a beauty salon. She opens her beauty salon from 08:00 am to 09:30 pm per working day and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Grace's third loan request from Tujijenge Tanzania. Grace used the previous loans, all of which were paid back successfully, to buy salon hair steamer and hair products. Grace used the increased income to cover part of school fees and home food expenses. She normally puts aside (saves) part of the business profit for her future. Grace is so happy with Kiva's loan support and she dreams that one day she will be able to improve her business and life. With her new loan request, Grace will use the money to buy salon hair products to service more people.

She will share this loan with her loan group " KAMPALA" which totals six members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.

In this group: Grace, Magreth, Magreth, Rukia, Paulo, Maiko
