A loan of $1,475 helped to buy two saws for his carpenter's shop.

Luis Fernando's story

Luis Fernando is a 35 years old man; he lives in the town of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, an area well renowned in the country for being a place where the mountains meet the coast. The weather there is very nice, and the area is also characterized by its deeply business and productive nature.
Luis Fernando has a young daughter, who lives with her mother; he greatly cares for his little child, who is two years old and does not go to school.
Luis Fernando is a hardworking man, and he has been running a carpenter’s shop for 2 and a half years. He works there every day, creating doors and frames he sells to established customers who, in turn, are wholesalers for the same kind of products. Luis Fernando is deeply engaged in his job, working with deep love for what he does, and for this reason, his doors and other products are a success. Having also learned how to be a topographer from his father, he sometimes also engages in this activity, when his clients require it.
Luis is a faithful customer of Fundación Alternativa, having worked with the institution for its services. Now Luis is asking for another loan that he will use to buy machines he requires for his shop: a big chainsaw and a circular saw, tools that he really needs for this daily activity.
Luis is deeply grateful to the institution and to Kiva for making it possible for people to make their activities grow thanks to the loans that help them excel.
