A loan of $500 helped to purchase beauty products and bundles of used clothing in order to expand her business.

Célia's story

Célia is a young woman who's 29 years old. She's a single mother of two underage children, one of whom is already school-aged. She lives with her sister, her children and two nephews in a house that her late mother left for them. She's an 11th grade student and the head of the family. She makes a living by providing hairdressing services so that she can earn a livelihood. This is her second loan. She gets help from her younger sister who recently got a job working for the government. With the loan she intends to purchase beauty products and bundles of used clothing in order to expand her business. Her dream is to be able to build a beauty salon that's in better shape, since she currently serves people underneath a tree at her home. She also dreams of moving foward with her education all the way to college so that she can improve her and her children's living conditions. Her challenge is the fact that she's the head of the family at a young age and that she only relies on the services she provides in order to support her family.
