Diema Group
In this Group: Kadia , Salimata , Sitan , Sata, Bintou
The Diema group belongs to the Siguikafo association in Tiele. It includes women who became acquainted through kinship and neighborhood ties. They are on average 40 years old, married with five children.

They conduct various activities such as the retail trade of cosmetics like Kadia, who is the first person sitting at the right in the photo. They live in large traditional families in Tiele, in the Baguineda sub-district (Koulikoro region, Republic of Mali).

They have been running small businesses for several years and are in high demand with their cosmetic-trading activities: perfumes, lip balms and soap.

To satisfy the growing needs of their customers, the group decided six years ago to join the Soro Yiriwaso loan program. They are on their eighth group loan.

Kadia, who is the president of the group and very well known in Tiele, excels in selling cosmetics. She plans to use her loan to buy 20 cartons of perfumes and 20 cartons of soap. She resupplies from wholesalers in Bamako and locally, and retails her products in Tiele, for cash and on credit, to a clientele composed of men and women.

She hopes to attain monthly profits of 22,500 CFA francs, which will enable her to repay the loan and reinvest the remainder in her cosmetics-trading activities.
