A loan of $875 helped a member to buy cassava seedlings and to pay plowing and labor fees.

Neng's Group's story

Neng is 24 years old and is a villager living in the Dambae district of Kampong Cham province. She is also a mother of two kids, one in school and one is too young for schooling. To strive for a living, Neng plants cassava and works a paid-work job for extra income. This current business has returned her about 25,000 KHR per day. Never having been with VisionFund (Kiva’s partner), Neng is now a leader of her group consisting of three members, including herself. The total amount of her entire group loan is 3,400,000 KHR, of which 1,200,000 KHR is her loan portion. As the leader, she will spend her entire loan portion to buy cassava seedlings and to pay plowing and labor fees for her farmland. She hopes to earn extra income as well as to expand her business.
