Malik's story

Mr. Malik was born in Nioro. He is married and has four children. He lives iwht hsi family in Sanoubougou, a working-class neighborhood in the ciyt of Skiasso, the third administrative region of Mali. He as been buying and selling ready-to-wear clothng for about four years. He has a shop at the Sanoubougou I bus station. GIven the growth of his customer base due to the quality of his merchandise and the fact that his own resources are insufficient to meet demand, five years ago he thought it useful to turn to the Soro Yiriwaso mirofinance institution. After six individual loans duly reimbursed, he is now requesting his seventh loan. This loan will allow him to buy 15 miscellaneous shirts, 20 trousers of various quality grades, 20 pairs of various shoes (Soulier, Ferardine), five sets of jackets,, 20 T-shirts, 10 sets of underwear. He stock up in Bamako and then resells his articles in his store located right in the middle of the bus station, to a mixed clientele, for cash and on credit. With this 7th individual loan, he anticipates earning an average monthly revenue of 115,000 West African francs, which will allow him to bolser his working capital, pay off the ineres ton his loan and cover some additional family expenses.
