Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Nuriza's story

Nuriza is 35 years old, married, and is raising two school-aged children. She considers the well-being of her family and children to be of the highest value in her life. In 2005, with a starting capital of 25,000 KGS, she began a business selling women's clothing. Because of her ability to develop her business and gain loyal customers, Nuriza has an average monthly income of about 30,000 KGS. Thanks to Nuriza's hard work in her business, she was able to increase turnover and grow her business. With the goal of further increasing and expanding her business, Nuriza turned to the bank "Bai-Tushum" for a loan of 80,000 KGS to increase business, and in particular to buy clothing. With the income from the loan, Nuriza plans to invest in increasing the size of her store and save towards her children's educations.
