A loan of $400 helped purchase construction materials to build a porch.

Karen's story

Karen lives in a neighborhood of Managua called Francisco Morazan. She is 34 years old and a single mother of 2 children, ages 10 and 19, who are students. Karen has prepared herself with education in order to move forward with her family although it has been difficult to achieve parts of her goals. She hopes to support her children in order for them to fully achieve their goals. She studied physical therapy and has worked in a state health center for the past 13 years. With the loan that she is requesting, she would like to build a porch for her home. She needs to purchase materials such as stone, sand, cement, and iron. In the long term, she would like to continue studying and apply for a better job with a higher income to support her children during their studies that will allow them to have a grand future.
