A loan of $325 helped purchase of large quantities of coconuts.

Jovita's story

Mrs. Jovita, member of the La Libertad (Freedom) village bank, lives in the Bellavista district in the San Martin region in the small village of La Libertad. She sells coconuts wholesale by the hundreds to other merchants in the city of Bellavista who sell them retail. She started her business because she saw that there is great demand for this refreshing fruit and she decided to start the business.

With this $325 loan which she will repay in 6 months, she will purchase coconuts in very large quantities to sell to retailers. She is already well-known and has fixed customers who look for her products as she always leaves a good impression on her customers.

Mrs. Jovita is 26 years old; she lives with her husband and her two children. She is a long-suffering and responsible woman with great desires to help her children progress. In the future, she'd like to be a producer of coconuts to improve her income.
