A loan of $125 helped to pay for a more efficient and an affordable cooking gas package.

Maurice's story

Maurice is a 33-year-old lady living in Entebbe. The price of charcoal in Entebbe has increased in the past few months. Charcoal is not only expensive but it also takes a long time to light. This process makes it inefficient in preparing meals, most especially during rush hours or in an emergency.

Maurice is seeking a Kiva loan to enable her to acquire Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). LPG is affordable and efficient. Although it might appear expensive initially, in the long run, it is cheaper than charcoal.

Maurice will be able to prepare meals using LPG and will commence her repayments after a month.
