A loan of $125 helped to pay for more efficient kitchen energy using liquefied petroleum gas.

Christine's story

Christine lives in Entebbe together with her family, and they cook using charcoal. As a teacher, she finds it difficult to do the cooking as well as prepare her teaching lessons.

Christine and her husband have agreed to acquire a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cookstove to supplement their existing energy. However, the upfront cost had been the hindrance.

With the offer of a Kiva loan, Christine is happy that they are now going to acquire an efficient LPG stove, which will enable her to prepare food quickly and only use the charcoal stove over the weekend when she is not so busy.
