A loan of $125 helped to buy mobile phone top up credit and other provisions to sell to her customers.

Aminata's story

Hello from Kandeh town, a bustling market community near the city of Bo in Southern Sierra Leone. This is Aminata, a young businesswoman and single mother of a 2-year-old child.

Aminata began her business so that she could support her small child. She has a small store on a busy street where she sells ‘top up’ credit for the local mobile phone networks as well as general groceries. She works hard during the week and has built her business so that it is now running well. She has plans for her business and would love to operate from a bigger premises in the future.

Aminata would like to use this loan to buy top up credit at the agents’ price so that she can make a small profit when selling it to her customers. She also wants to buy more groceries to sell to her customers. Aminata says that her business has really improved her family's life and says thank you to BRAC Sierra Leone and Kiva lenders for their support of her business.
