Blalin's story

Please meet 55-year-old Blalin from Liberia. She lives and works in Nimba County.

Nimba is one of the most resource-rich areas of Liberia, producing minerals such as iron ore. The county shares a border with both Cote D’Ivoire and Guinea. As a result, many people in business pass through the area, bringing lots of trade. Nimba is also the second-most populous area in Liberia.

Blalin did not attend school. She is married, and her husband is classroom teacher. She has eight children between the ages of 12 and 23. Only four are in school, and they all live at home.

Blalin has had a table business, selling rice, oil, pepper, etc., for the past five years. She started her business with money from her friends. On average, she works 10 hours. She transports her merchandise by bus. She cites the high price of goods as her biggest challenge.

Her favorite part of her business is that she makes a profit. In the future, she would like to own a house.

She will use this loan to purchase more rice, oil, pepper, etc., for her business. She thanks you in advance for your support!
