A loan of $300 helped selling palm oil and pig farming.

Lydia Aseh's story

Lydia is a widow with six children. To provide for herself and the children, she had to start working very hard after the death of her husband. With her two previous loans she succeeded in providing her community with palm oil, manure and meat.

Given a loan of $300, she plans to buy piglets, sticks to reinforced the pig fence and tins of palm-oil. She plans to pay the monthly installments with sales of palm oil and vegetables. The vegetables will be harvested from her vegetable garden, which is cultivated with manure from her pig farm. She plans to repay the loan in 18 months. The first installment will be four months from the date of disbursement of the loan.
