Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Bibian's story

Bibian is a 30-year-old businesswoman who is married with three children. She has been successfully operating a shop where she sells sugar, salt, soap, flour, cooking oil and rice. Bibian lives in Nyaminyami District of Zimbabwe. She has been assisted by her family members in this business venture as it is their main source of income. With the requested Kiva loan, Bibian intends to make bulk purchases of sugar, salt, soap, flour, cooking oil, rice and other groceries in order to make more profits. With the improved profits, she hopes to expand her business and improve her standard of living. To give back to her community, she volunteers as a Camfed Learner Guide in schools teaching students life skills education.
