A loan of $775 helped to buy supplies to give maintenance to 3.5 hectares of coffee plantations.

Cerapio Del Carmen's story

Cerapio del Carmen is a coffee producer. He is the father of six children. Together with his wife, he has raised them thanks to the income he receives from his activity. He is an entrepreneur who generates jobs for four persons from his community every year. During the last season, he increased his production of parchment coffee [dried, but un-hulled coffee beans] by 130 quintals compared to the previous one, thanks to the improvements he has been implementing in his farm.

This small producer has worked with coffee his whole life. It has been his main economic activity for more than ten years. He has received three loans from Asociación Pueblos en Acción Comunitaria (PAC) and has paid them back on time thanks to his good results.

This time, he is requesting a loan to buy supplies for the maintenance activities needed to keep 3.5 hectares. These supplies will increase his productivity and profitability for the upcoming season. His goal is to enlarge his plantations in order to improve his family’s financial situation.
