A loan of $375 helped to buy manure to look after his coffee crops.

Jose's story

José is 41 years old and lives with his wife and children in his own house which was built out of rustic material. José and his family live in Mangaypa village, a rural area of the Pomahuaca district with a warm climate in the Jaén province of the Cajamarca region in Peru's northern highlands. Here the people make a living in farming, cattle-raising and business.

José makes a living in farming, specifically he grows coffee. He has customers in his community. José has applied for a loan of 1000 Nuevo Soles in order to buy manure to look after his coffee crops and to have a good yield to offer to his customers on time. With this loan, José wants to increase his income for his family.
